Local History

The Elroy Public Library is committed to sharing access to the local history and heritage.

We have a number of on-site options for the public including family genealogies, oral histories in print, yearbooks, and city documents.

You are welcome to stop in or call to schedule time with one of our staff (we cannot guarantee our time if you drop in).

Off-site you can explore local papers and documents that were once on microfilm but now accessible on a website that allows you to search by name, date, etc. A full description is available on how to navigate and use this resource can be seen on the page for Digital Historians.  Click on link to access Local Digital Newpaper Archives.

All patrons with an active library card have free access to Heritage Quest, Newspaper Archives, and the national census via Badgerlink.
